Farmers across Komaram Bheem Asifabad district are facing difficulties due to below-normal rainfall during the early Kharif season. According to recent weather data, the district received only 49.9 mm of rainfall against the normal 120 mm, resulting in a rainfall deficit of nearly 58 percent. Cotton farmers who sowed crops during the Mrigasira season have reported poor germination and uneven crop growth.
Agriculture experts have advised farmers to adopt water conservation measures and use sprinkler or drip irrigation wherever possible. Officials have also recommended gap-filling and re-sowing in fields where germination rates are low. The situation is being closely monitored as timely rainfall in the coming weeks will be crucial for crop survival and productivity.
